A treemap visualizes hierarchical parts-to-whole relationships using a series of nested rectangles. Each main category branch is represented by a large bounding rectangle, which is further subdivided into smaller sub-rectangles for its child nodes. The area of every rectangle is strictly proportional to a specified quantitative value, enabling viewers to rapidly assess the largest contributors within complex, multi-level datasets.
