HTML and Markdown conversion moves content between explicit document markup and a compact plain-text authoring syntax. In the HTML-to-Markdown direction, executable elements are removed before Turndown creates headings, lists, links, emphasis, and fenced code. In the reverse direction, Marked parses the Markdown and DOMPurify sanitizes the resulting preview. Both transformations run locally and expose the generated source for copying or download rather than silently publishing it.

Why are styles removed?
Markdown represents document meaning rather than arbitrary visual CSS, so unsafe or non-semantic styling is intentionally not preserved.
