Statistical calculator
CalculateExperimentalLimited support. Verify anything critical.
A descriptive statistical calculator summarizes a pasted series of finite numbers without fitting a model or making an inferential claim. It reports count, sum, mean, median, repeated modes, minimum, maximum, range, population variance and standard deviation, plus sample variance and standard deviation when at least two observations exist. Values are parsed from commas, semicolons, spaces, or lines and calculated entirely in the current browser tab.

Limits
- Only finite numeric values are accepted
- no weighted or grouped observations.
Warnings
- Choose sample or population variance according to how the observations were collected.
How to use Statistical calculator
Paste a clean numeric column
Separators may be commas, semicolons, spaces, or line breaks. Any non-numeric token stops the calculation rather than being silently ignored.
Interpret the denominator
Use population measures when the pasted values are the entire population of interest. Use sample measures when they are observations from a larger population.

Frequently asked questions
Why are there two variance values?
Population variance divides by n; sample variance uses the n minus one correction when observations estimate a wider population.
